Keffiyehs in Buchenwald
Are there more sacred places for the Jewish community than concentration camps?
Millions were murdered in the camps that were set up across Europe during the Holocaust. Now activist groups are planning a protest there on April 11th—the anniversary of the camp's liberation—calling it "Keffiyehs in Buchenwald."
Let me go back to the beginning of this dreadful story. In 2025, a visitor wearing a keffiyeh was denied entry to an 80th-anniversary liberation commemoration at Buchenwald. The visitor intended to use the scarf as a political statement against Israel.
